Why Am I Getting Echo on My Headset With My Polycom Phone?

The echo on your phone could be coming from a few sources, and we have some methods to figure it out and get it fixed!

1. Check basic set up (compat, connections, etc.)
   
   • Leitner wireless headsets should be set to 1 and RHL
   • Leitner corded headsets should be set to 2 & 3 or 2 & 4
   • Sennheiser wireless headsets should be set to A with the 5th dipswitch in the down position (if using an EHS, the 1st dipswitch should also be in the down position)
   • For corded and wireless headsets, ensure you're connected into the headset jack on the back of the phone
2. Adjust the volumes
   
   • If the echo is on your end, turn down the microphone volume - anything too high can cause an echo.
   • If it's still there, we'll need to fine-tune the phone and headset volumes to find the sweet spot. Turn down the phone volume to 50% or lower, then turn up the volume on the headset to compensate. If that doesn't work, try turning it up on the phone and down on the headset.
3. Enable echo cancellation in the phone
   
   • Hit the HOME or MENU button
   • Select SETTINGS (usually option 6 or 7)
   • Select BASIC (option 1)
   • Select PREFERENCES (option 1)
   • Select HEADSET (option 3)
   • Select Echo Cancellation
   • Select ENABLE

And there you go! You should no longer be hearing any more troublesome echoes!
