Standard EPOS Connect Settings for OfficeRunner and DW Pro 1 and 2

Updated by Hayden Everly on Jun 3, 2024

So many settings, so little time. Once you download EPOS Connect, you may be wondering what to do next. Here we will break down what the settings mean!

Sennheiser OfficeRunner Wireless Headset

Getting started

For basic settings for the SDW 5016 headset in EPOS Connect, check out our Standard EPOS Connect settings for SDW 5016 article.

First, make sure your OfficeRunner is plugged into the computer. It will need to stay plugged into the computer so that EPOS Connect can maintain the settings you’re about to set up. If you cannot leave it plugged into the computer, then you’ll want to STOP and use the physical dipswitches on the back of the headset base.

Finding and Understanding the Settings

If you are down to leave the headset plugged in forever and EPOS Connect running, then proceed to the instructions below...

  1. Open up EPOS Connect. You should see a picture of your headset on the Home page
  2. Click on the gear cog (spikey circle) in the bottom pane to get to the settings
  3. Once you’re in the settings section, click "DECT USB for Lync" in the top left corner
  4. Adjust your settings as needed using the instructions below
  5. Hit the Save Settings button on the bottom right side of EPOS Connect to save your changes

Note: that you can’t make changes and save them while you’re using the headset. The headset must be docked on the base before you hit “save.”

Radio Range represents Dipswitch 3 on the OR base.

  • Long range = Dip Switch 3 in the UP position. Most users will want to leave this one in Long Range mode
  • Short range = Dip Switch 3 in the DOWN position
  • Auto Link = Dipswitch 4 on the OR base.
    • ON = Dip Switch 4 in the DOWN position. With this on, the headset will automatically turn on when removed from its base.
    • OFF = Dip Switch 4 in the UP position.

Audio Transmission represents Dipswitch 5 on the OR base.

  • Most users will want to set things to Standard. This is a setting between Wide and Narrowband
  • If you would like longer battery life, you can set it to Narrowband
  • If you have a special wideband phone (they would specifically say this on the phone’s info) then you can set it to Wideband for richer sound quality. However, doing this may make the battery life a bit shorter than a full 8-12 hours

USB Auto Audio

  • This needs to be ON to get sound out of the headset on computer mode. So leave it ON for most cases

Mute Tone

  • Setting this feature to ON will make your headset beep when the microphone is muted

Disable Call Control

  • Most users will want to leave this OFF. We want to be able to answer calls with whatever accessories we have purchased.
  • Headset Status Sync
    • If you have a compatible softphone, when enabled, this setting will keep track of your headset state (turned on, muted, battery level, etc.) and display this information in the softphone application itself.
    • Time for a new headset?
    • Many OfficeRunner Customers have switched to the Leitner Premium Plus LH570!
