Leitner EHS Setup with Aastra, Siemens, and Mitel Phones

This article will help you set up the Mitel / Siemens / Aastra Hookswitch

First, set the compatibility switch on the bottom of the Leitner headset base to 1. Then, set the RHL/DHSG button to DHSG.

To connect the Mitel EHS cable to the headset base and your Mitel phone, first, plug the Y-side of the cable into the AUX and TEL jacks of your Leitner headset base. Then, plug the signal side of the cable into the AUX jack of your Mitel telephone.

Next you may need to enable the DHSG mode on your Mitel phone.

Here are your steps to enable DHSG mode on your Mitel 6920 phone:

• Press the Settings key to enter the settings menu (looks like a gear cog)
• Navigate to the Audio > Headset settings and press Select button or Select soft key
• Press the right navigation key to move to the DHSG selection column
• Use the up and down navigation keys to choose "Enabled"
• Press the Save soft key to save your changes

Note: You may also need to configure the Audio Path in the Mitel phone.

• Go to Settings > Audio > Audio path
• Use arrow keys to select "Headset" (or "Headset/Speaker" if that's the only option) then hit the Save key

Here are your steps to enable DHSG mode on your Mitel 6930 phone:

Here are your steps to enable DHSG mode the Mitel 6940 phone:

• Press the Settings key to enter the Static Settings menu
• Navigate to the Audio > Audio Path > Select “Headset” (or "Headset/Speaker" if that's the only option) setting and save
• Next, Navigate to Audio > Headset > DHSG and use navigation key to change setting to “Enabled"
• Press the “Save” soft key to save your changes

Final Note: Mitel phones tend to have different menus than what their manuals show for some reason. So if this isn't successful, we have had success with having your IT department (or phone techs) set it to DHSG mode through their admin system.
