SDW 5016 Resets

Updated by Kamika Royal on Jun 15, 2024

Is your SDW 5016 headset acting up? We have a few things to try for troubleshooting!
  1. Do a DCA Reset. Weirdly, this fixes a lot of things! (just unplug the power from the back, then plug it back in 10-30 seconds later)
  2. Secondary SDW 5016 Reset; instructions below
  • Find the white S1 button on the bottom of the base.
  • With the tip of a pen press and hold this button for a full 30 seconds.
  • The headset will say “Device Disconnected” while you’re holding the buttons down. When you let go of the S1 button, the headset base will be flashing red and blue.
  • If the flashing red and blue lights don’t go away on their own in 30 seconds or so, unplug the headset’s power cable and then plug it back in. Give it about 30 seconds to get power to the base and try the headset again.
  1. S1 Dimple Reset
  • Press and release the white S1 button with tip of a pen and let the headset recharge for 1 hour.

Please note: We don't carry this headset, so we don't have much troubleshooting information outside of this article. Hopefully these resets get you back up and running!

I tried the S1 trick. Sadly the four white “Charging status” leds are flashing. I tried to find that error code, but have had no succes.

I have a SDW5000 base unit. My old SDW 60HS connection broke, so I bough a new headset. I can not sync the headset to the base unit. The led light on the headset stays blue for only a few seconds. any thoughts

We don’t carry the SDW60 headset from Sennheiser, so we don’t have pairing instructions for your replacement headset. Sorry about that!

For help with your headset, we’d recommend reaching out to Sennheiser. They are at 1-877-736-6434.

I have a SDW 10 headset connected to my polycom phone. When a call comes in, it defaults to speakerphone and NOT the headset. How do I get it to default to the headset? My co-worker’s phone is set properly; however, we cannot tell how it was done!

You’ll want to make sure you’re pressing the headset button on your Polycom phone (usually found just above the speakerphone button on the right side of the telephone). Then, if it’s either a shared button that’s defaulting to speakerphone or if your headset button is going to speakerphone for some reason, we’d recommend taking a look at your Polycom telephone settings. This can most likely be solved with a few quick tweaks in the telephone settings.
