The ring detector is a standard accessory for handset lifters or for certain electronic hook switch cables.
Our original ring detector cord is an external microphone that was designed for use with the HL1 handset lifter(which has no internal mic). With the HL1, simply place the ring detector over the speaker of the phone, peel off the adhesive on one side of it, and it will trigger the beep in the wireless headset.
This will work on ORL12, Avaya EHS (cat #2083), Shoretel EHS (cat #2142), and PLT lifters
It has a very simple setup. Simply take the pin side and plug it into the slot in the back of the handset lifter or into the EHS cord in the plastic box between the two cords. Once that is plugged in, remove the wax paper from the microphone and attach it to the speaker on your phone.
And that's really it!
