What is the Plantronics RD-1 Pod?

On phones that have "load detect" (LD) electronic hookswitch control,

wireless headsets can remote answer without an EHS cable or a lifter.

BUT, you wont be able to hear the phone ring in the headset on incoming calls.

Plantronics has a ring detect module that attaches to your phone, plugs into a CS or Savi headset base and generates ring detection tone in the headset.

It is called the RD-1-POD Ring Detector Catalog # 1976

NOTE:The RD-1 only provides ring alert, phone has built in remote answer feature .

Only the plantronics cs series and the savi w740 are compatible with RD-1 pOD.

NOTE: The RD-1 Pod has a 3.5mm accessory jack on the adapter, right next to the cord that connects to the headset base. This accessory jack is for the Online indicator.

IP 212K, IP 230 (newer models only, date code must end in "GE" or "-03" or higher), IP 230g, IP 265, IP 560 (newer models only, date code must end in "GE" or "-03" or higher), IP 560G, and IP 565G.

(must be software version 7.0 or higher and set auto off-hook to wireless headset)

110, IP 115, IP 210 older 230 and older 560 are not RD-1 compatible, they require the HL10 handset lifter

Toshiba

Toshiba phones with an HHEU or BHEU headset adapter installed.
