My USB corded Headset Won't Mute with My MAC!

If you’re having a problem using the mute function (or any of the volume functions) on a Mac with a Leitner corded USB or Executive Pro Overture headset, the issue is FaceTime

FaceTime is the ever-popular video chat program for Mac and it has its own sound settings!

So, even if you’re set up for the headset in the Mac System Preferences, you may need to open up FaceTime and change the sound settings there, too. Here's how to do that:

  1. Open up FaceTime.
  2. Under the Video menu, change the Output and the Input to the headset.
  3. Volume, mute, and all other headset sounds should now be working as normal now :)
