Leitner USB-C Headsets and Cell Phones

Updated by Kamika Royal on Apr 19, 2024

While Leitner USB-C Headsets are designed for use with computers, they can also work with Samsung and Google cell phones! Information on this is below.

Please note: These headsets do not currently give 2-way sound with newer iPhones that have USB-C charging ports.

Set-up is easy! Just plug the USB-C headset into the USB-C charging port of the phone. The compatibility switches on the cord come set to 2 and 3 and that's where we should leave them.

To use your headset, just use the buttons on your phone as normal!

Note: The mute and answer buttons on the headset cord do not work. The volume buttons do, but if you need to mute or pick up/hang up your call, you'll want to use the buttons on your phone screen.

More About Mute: If you do hit the mute button on the cord, it will mute the call but then it will also turn off your cell phone's microphone. You may get an error message that looks a bit like this:

Mute error message on cell phone screen

If you do, just follow the prompts on your phone's screen to turn the microphone back on.

Again-- to avoid all this, just use the mute on the phone screen! It won't give you any trouble :)
