The Yealink USB EHS Cable and Leitner Premium Headsets

Updated by Kamika Royal on Mar 15, 2024

The Leitner USB EHS Cable will work with Leitner Premium Lite and Premium Plus wireless headsets and specific Yealink phones (see a complete list of compatible phones at the end of the article). Answer and end calls directly from your headset up to 350 feet away simply by turning on your headset. To install, just follow these easy steps!

Please Note: If you're talking on the Yealink phone when this EHS cable is plugged into the phone's USB port, it may move the phone into headset mode and cut off your telephone audio.

EHS Setup

  1. Plug the end of the EHS with the USB into the phone's USB port
Note: If there is more than one port, make sure it goes into the USB near the other cords, not behind the screen
  2. Plug the larger end on the Y-cord into the AUX jack in the back of the headset base
  3. Plug the remaining cord into the second from the last (green) port on the headset base

  4. Flip the headset base over and make sure the RHL/DHSG switch is set to DHSG, and the slider is set to 1
  5. Plug the AC adapter into the back of the headset base, then the other end into a wall outlet or surge protector

Yealink Web Portal

If you're using a Yealink phone, you should be good to go once the EHS is installed, but if you're not getting call control and ring detection, follow these steps:

  1. On your phone, press Menu >> Status >> IPV4 (This will give you the IP address of your phone)
Note: If this does not work, we’ll need help from the phone provider to get the login info.
  2. Type the IP address into a web browser and hit enter.
Note: If you're unable to connect to this address, try typing "https://" before the IP address in the URL bar.
  3. We should land on a page that looks like this
Yealink web portal username and password login
  4. Login using the default username "admin" and password "admin".
Note: If this does not work, we’ll need help from the phone provider to get the login info.
  5. Navigate to the Features dropdown and select the Audio tab.
  6. Make sure the last option, “Ringer Device for Headset” is set to "Use Headset & Speaker," then click "confirm" at the bottom.

  7. Reboot the phone and make a test call to your phone. You should now hear a chime in the headset when an incoming call comes in!

Using the Headset

Note: You must have the phone handset on the receiver for this EHS cable to work

  1. When a call comes in, you will hear an alert in the headset
  2. Press the ON/OFF button on the headset
  3. You should now hear the caller right in your ear
  4. When you're done, press the ON/OFF button on the headset again to disconnect the call
