Yealink Phones with USB Ports and the Leitner USB Headsets

Updated by Kamika Royal on Apr 22, 2024

Leitner USB headsets can plug into the USB port of your Yealink phone. This includes the Leitner dongle headsets, the Leitner wireless headsets (when used on computer mode), and the corded Leitner USB headsets.

You'll be able to hear when the phone rings and (for wireless Leitner headsets) answer the call by turning on the headset. Here's how to set this up!

Setting up

  1. First, if your headset is wireless, charge the headset fully
  2. Next, plug USB dongle or USB cable into your phone's USB port

Yealink Web Portal

Most Yealink phones are ready to go once the dongle is plugged in, but if you're not getting call control and ring detection, follow these steps:

  1. On your phone, press Menu >> Status >> IPV4 (This will give you the IP address of your phone)
Note: If this does not work, we’ll need help from the phone provider to get the login info.
  2. Type the IP address into a web browser and hit enter.
Note: If you're unable to connect to this address, try typing "https://" before the IP address in the URL bar.
  3. We should land on a page that looks like this
Yealink web portal username and password login
  4. Login using the default username "admin" and password "admin".
Note: If this does not work, we’ll need help from the phone provider to get the login info.
  5. Navigate to the Features dropdown and select the Audio tab.
  6. Make sure the last option, “Ringer Device for Headset” is set to "Use Headset & Speaker," then click "confirm" at the bottom.

  7. Reboot the phone and make a test call to your phone. You should now hear a chime in the headset when an incoming call comes in!

Using the Headset

  1. When a call comes in, you'll hear an alert in the headset
  2. (If wireless) Press the ON/OFF button on the headset, (if corded) press the "answer" button on the screen
  3. You should now hear the caller right in your ear
  4. To disconnect the call either turn off your headset or press the "end call" soft button under the screen

Note: You must have the handset receiver on the phone for this to work.
