EHS for Grandstream/Ooma Phones and the Leitner Premium Headsets

This article reviews the settings for, and how to set up, the Leitner EHS for Grandstream and Ooma phones.

At the end of the article, we list which Leitner wireless headsets are compatible with this EHS cable.

Settings for Grandstream and Ooma Phones (2600 series)

If you prefer written instructions, here they are!

1. Grab the EHS cable and plug the small connector on the Y-cord into the green phone port in the back of the headset base (second from the right)
2. Plug the larger plug (RJ45) into the AUX jack in the back of the headset base
3. Take the final end and plug it into the headset jack in the back of your phone
4. Go to the menu button (soft button, second from the right with the three lines on the phone) then scroll to preferences --> audio control --> headset type --> Jabra EHS (If Jabra isn't listed, select Plantronics)
5. Set headset base settings to DHSG and 1 at the bottom of the base

EHS settings for the GXP2160

This phone can be a little different, so try these steps if the ones above don't work. These steps will need to be performed on the computer with the Grandstream web portal

1. Go to Grandstream Web Portal on your computer (may require admin password) -> Call Settings and set the account ringtone to “System Ringtone”
2. Go to Settings -> Preferences -> Audio Control and set the following options:

• Headset Key Mode = Toggle Headset/Speaker
• Headset Type = Jabra EHS headset
• If no Jabra, select Plantronics

1. EHS Headset Ring Tone = Jabra EHS ringtone

• If Jabra isn't available, select Plantronics

1. Save and apply then enable headset mode on the phone

EHS settings for the GXP2615

These steps can all be performed on the phone itself.

1. Press the menu softkey on the Grandstream screen
2. Head down to Preferences --> Audio Controls --> Headset Type
3. In Headset Type, select "Plantronics EHS" and hit the Save soft key

Compatible Leitner Headsets

This EHS will provide remote answering for specific Leitner headset models with the following serial numbers:

• Premium Lite headsets (LH200 & LH300 series) with an E in the serial number (ex: 23E4243007)
• Premium Plus headsets (LH500 & LH600 series) with OA in the serial number (ex: 23OA0178008)
