Enabling Call Control with 8x8

We heard that the 8x8 softphone is now offering Call Control with USB headsets.

Here is how to enable that: By default, this feature is disabled in Work for Desktop. To turn it on, go to Preferences > Audio and Video, and enable the "Enable built-in call controls" slider beneath the Speakers option. 8x8

Key things to keep in mind:

  • Call control integration with Plantronics/Poly headsets works best when the headset is connected to only one device at a time. 8x8
  • Pure Bluetooth headsets (without a USB dongle plugged into the computer) are generally not supported for call control integration — the USB dongle is what enables the communication between the headset and the softphone.
