"Echo" vs Echo

Echo echo echo echo echo...

With some headsets, it's normal to hear yourself in the headset while talking, in fact, it is called "sidetone." But if you or your callers are hearing a delayed echo, we may need to get that fixed up with the instructions below.

Echo Heard By Your Callers

• Try all the compatibility settings in the back or bottom of your headset base and see if the sound improves
• The incoming volume on the headset could be too loud, try reducing the volume on the headset with the speaker volume adjuster
• The volume on the telephone may be too loud, try hitting the volume down button on the phone until it disappears
• The jack you’re plugged into might be incompatible with the headset, try going through the handset port on the phone base

Echo Heard By You

Cause: A volume setting is turned up too high. Check volumes in this order:

1. Mic volume: Lower the mic volume first. If your voice becomes too quiet, bring it to a level where you can be easily heard
2. Headset volume: If the mic is at a normal level and you're still echoing, try lowering the volume on the headset itself until you don't hear the echo anymore
3. Phone volume: Once you’ve gotten rid of the echo, raise the volume on your phone. Get it to a point where you can hear your callers but not the echo
