Can I use a Lifter with my Mitel 8528 Phone?

Updated by Hayden Everly on Oct 23, 2024

Well yes but... it’s a bit tricky. Here’s what you’ll need to do:

  1. Place your lifter over the speaker of the telephone, as you would normally.
  2. Set your lifter to its highest height. The Mitel 8528 has an arched handset, so the lifter will need to raise nice and high to properly lifter the handset.
  3. Get your Velcro. You should already have Velcro as per the Compat Guide. If you don’t, STOP and send the Customer some Velcro!

Here’s where your Velcro is going...

• Stick one side of your Velcro on the bottom inside edge of the cup-shaped bottom cradle of the Mitel phone. Make sure it’s on the bottom INSIDE edge of that cup, not just stuck on the phone below the cup-shaped bottom cradle.

• Stick the other side of your Velcro to the bottom of your handset receiver. The tiny area right beneath the microphone part that you’d speak into.

• The Velcro will now keep the phone from sliding out of the tiny bottom cradle by holding it in place when the lifter goes up.

• When you need to use the handset, just give it a pull and the Velcro will let go so you can pick up the phone. You can simply stick it back in place when you’re finished talking on it.

We have tested this method and it works! This is the only way we’ve been able to get lifters to work on this model of Mitel phone.
